How I Started

Yoga found Kateri, not the other way around. After going through the depths of depression and anxiety from experiencing devastating life traumas, she discovered the undeniable healing that comes from yoga, meditation, and self‑awareness.

As she began to transform from all of the benefits she was experiencing from her own yoga practice, she was guided to the 200‑hr yoga teacher training in the spring of 2017 through Heartspace/Yoga Vidya in Albany/Troy, New York. 

“I really didn’t know if I would end up teaching, I did it for my own healing, but I felt so pulled to share the tools that I had gained to help others heal as well.

We are all going through stressful situations and some of us just need the tools to manage and that is exactly what yoga does. It is an energy‑management system that brings peace into your life. The benefits are endless.”

After teaching for a couple of years at local studios, nursing homes, and for different youth groups, Kateri began to see the shifts in the people she was working with one‑on‑one. This is when she decided to enroll in the Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy program where she is now continuing her studies to become a Certified Yoga Therapist.  She is on track to finish in May 2021, completing over 1,100 hours of yoga training. 

“We are all dealing with messes whether physically, emotionally, or mentally.  My intention is to provide a welcoming, safe space for my clients to meet themselves exactly where they are. Yoga is the journey back to oneself; I wish to guide you on your journey back to yourself with love and gratitude. I am a true example of turning a mess into a beautiful message, Om Shanti ❤️
